The South Central Calhoun Drama Department will be presenting the play “Curse of the Cobra’s Kiss” by Craig Sodaro on Friday March 27th and Saturday March 28th at 7:30 each evening. 21 thespians will be taking the stage at the high school auditorium each evening where they will take you back in time to 1923 on the outskirts of the Egyptian city of Luxor and into the home of Professor Tommy Towers. Towers has unearthed the treasures of the tomb of King Rottenlux and hopes to claim his fame and fortune with his discovery. The audience will be involved... literally, while they help solve one of the most hilarious mysteries of the 1920s. The discovery of King Rottenlux’s tomb has brought together some of the world’s most illustrious people. Assembled at Professor Tommy Towers’ estate are his wife, his jealous secretary, a n’er-do-well nephew with feuding girlfriends, a ruthless Hollywood director, two vengeful movie starlets, a mysterious fortune teller, a secretive graduate assistant and rival reporters. Is it any wonder that the wealthy Professor quickly meets his end when a cobra injects him with poison? A second member of the party is carried off to the tar pits by the ghost of King Rottenlux himself! A third member of the gathering has seen something and tries to tell super-sleuth Jessica Maples. Unfortunately, the poor girl dies before she can reveal her secret. Not to worry. Jessica, with the help of the great detective, Hercules Porcchop, uncovers the secrets hidden by the guests. Participate in piecing together the threads of the mystery until everyone ensnares the clever killer.
